Behold The Savior - Day 9
Day 9 of Advent! ๐๏ธ What an awesome Christmas season this is. G.K. Chesterton said, โIt is no use for the world to pretend that Christmas does not center on Christ. The very name of it proclaims Him.โ Letโs celebrate Christmas! ๐โจ๐๐๐๐ถ๐ฏ๏ธ

Todayโs Devotional: Breaking The Silence
Tuesday, December 9
โDo not be afraid, Zechariah, for your prayer has been heardโฆ your wife Elizabeth will bear you a sonโฆ and he will go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to make ready for the Lord a people prepared.โ
Luke 1:13โ17
Have you ever been in a season where God feels silent? Thatโs where Zechariah and Israel found themselves. Four hundred years had passed without a prophet, vision or word from the Lord. Where was God? Was the prophecy of the Messiah just a legend from the distant past? Had God forgotten about them? Does God still speak?
Out of the silence, God sends a voice. John would call people to repent and build anticipation for the Messiah. He preached a message of repentance, because the hearts of Godโs people needed to be softened. The Savior was coming. Redemption was coming. He had not forgotten them.
They needed to be ready and so do we. We need to turn from sin, soften our hearts and look to the One who saves. We need to be sensitive to the voice of the Lord. We need to prepare our hearts for Christ this Christmas. He is speaking if we are willing to listen. God had not forgotten His people, and He has not forgotten you. All our hope is in Jesus.
Reflection:
โข How can we โprepare the wayโ in our own hearts this week?
โข How can we be a bold messenger like John this Christmas?
Prayer:
Lord, prepare my heart to receive your Word. Help me to be sensitive to your Spirit and know your voice. I place my hope in you. In Jesusโ name, amen.
